Banana Simple Syrup

Banana bread in a bottle! This Banana Simple Syrup is a sweet, rich syrup, perfect for adding banana flavor to coffee, matcha lattes, pancakes, cocktails, and desserts.

Ingredients

  • 1 Medium Banana ripe, but not mushy
  • ½ Cup Coconut Sugar can sub brown sugar
  • 1 Cup Water
  • Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • Large Pinch Nutmeg

Instructions

  • Heat a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the banana and use a whisk or wooden spoon to mash the banana into a paste.
  • Add the sugar, water, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir and bring to a simmer. Let cook 5 minutes.
  • Let the syrup cool a few minutes before transferring to a blender. Blend until smooth. Store in the fridge.
