Notes
Sugar: classic simple syrups are made with water and sugar, but I love making syrups with less refined sugar! This recipe also works with agave or maple syrup. You can also use coconut sugar - with coconut sugar you will get a more chocolate + caramel flavor.Cocoa Powder: you can adjust the amount of cocoa powder you use based on how you prefer your syrup. For a thinner, sweeter syrup, use ⅔ cup of cocoa powder. This creates a traditional simple syrup texture. For a thicker, richer syrup, use up to 1 cup. This creates an ice cream syrup texture.
