- 1 Cup Brown Sugar or Coconut Sugar
- 1 Cup Water
- 2 Tablespoons Molasses
- 1 1- Inch Piece Ginger peeled; or ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 Cinnamon Sticks or ⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 Whole Cloves or pinch ground cloves
- ½ Teaspoon Vanilla
In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, water, molasses, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves. Bring to a boil and let boil for 1 minute.
Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla. Let cool completely in the pan (this is necessary to infuse all the flavor!).
