    Baked Sweet Potato Fries

Do you ever crave French fries? I sometimes do. I've been through an interesting evolution with fries. As a little kid I used to hate French fries If we went to a fast food restaurant, I would never eat the fries. Then as I got older I started to love the salty crunchy sticks. In high school I began to care more about myself and my health so I pretty much swore off fast food. When I started eating plant-based, I learned how oils and fried foods can affect your body so I avoid eating fries. But I LOVE sweet potatoes.

A tray of baked sweet potato fries.

I usually bake them in rounds like this Japanese Sweet Potato recipe but I wanted to mix things up. I was thinking about fries and decided to create Baked Sweet Potato Fries. These fries give us the health benefits of sweet potatoes but without added oils from frying.

Don't worry though. These Baked Sweet Potato Fries are NOT devoid of taste. Instead, we cover them in a mix of savory spices that pair perfectly with the sweetness of the sweet potato. YUM.

    Ingredient Notes

No crazy ingredients here, just sweet potatoes and spices!

    • Sweet Potato: Be sure to leave the skins on the potatoes - the skin is what has all the fiber, which is good for your gut.
    • Spices: Smoked paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. These spices create a smoky, savory, salty coating, giving these fries tons of flavor without added fat and calories.
