This Apple Crisp Latte is a cozy, fall drink with sweet notes of apple. An easy Starbucks copycat you can enjoy at home.

This year Starbucks paired down their fall drink menu and it was so disappointing to see that they didn't include their apple crisp macchiato or latte.
That's for sure not stopping me from enjoying an apple crisp latte though. So I created a delightful (and incredibly easy) homemade brown sugar apple crisp syrup, and now we're making a latte!

Why You'll Love This Apple Crisp Latte
- Vegan friendly - I made this latte with oat milk (like Starbucks) and of course the syrup is vegan too
- Fall flavor - with apple, brown sugar, and cinnamon, plus bold espresso. This drink is fall in a glass!
- Easy to make at home - No expensive lattes and no waiting in line!
- Iced or hot - Enjoy it chilled for the last of summer weather or steamed for a cozy winter drink
- No equipment necessary - if you have an espresso machine, feel free to use it. If not, I have a no-equipment espresso option that makes beautifully delicious espresso

Ingredient Notes & Substitutions
- Espresso: if you have an espresso machine brew a double shot for this latte. If not, I highly recommend espresso powder! The brand Medaglia D'Oro is my go-to. I've never found another brand I like. This espresso powder is smooth, bold, and not bitter. It's a great alternative to espresso. Alternatively, strong brewed coffee or instant coffee can also work.
- Brown Sugar Apple Crisp Syrup: my homemade vegan version of Starbucks' apple crisp syrup!
- Oat Milk: I used Planet Oat's unsweetened extra creamy milk. Look for the creamiest milk you can find or anything labeled "barista"
- Ice: if making an iced version

Step-By-Step Instructions
Step 1. Brew or make your espresso.

Step 2. For an iced version, add ice to your glass. For a hot version, steam or heat your milk.

Step 3. To your glass or mug add the brewed espresso, brown sugar apple crisp syrup, then the milk.

Pro Tip: Keep apple crisp syrup in the fridge for quick lattes anytime.
FAQ & Expert Tips
Yes! If you don't have espresso (or espresso powder) you can substitute strong brewed coffee or even use instant coffee - use about 2 ounces of strong coffee.
Yes! I only recommend doing this if you're making an iced version. Scale up to however many drinks you'd like. And store in the fridge for up to two days.
Yes! Any milk will work. I recommend soy milk if you aren't using oat. Or any milk labeled "barista"
If you want to brew your own espresso and are looking for a quality, functional, yet inexpensive machine, I recommend the Breville Bambino. This does require that you own a separate grinder.
For an all-in-one machine, the Breville Barista Express is what you want
