Easy Plant-Based Muesli is the perfect breakfast food. This vegan muesli is sweet and crunchy and super quick to prepare. Perfect for when you don't feel like cooking!

A couple weeks ago my friends and I bought a box of muesli from the store. It quickly became my breakfast staple when I realized how incredible it was.

I've made muesli before. You can even find one of my recipes for Ginger Pear Muesli on this blog. But what I loved about the muesli that I bought is that it was so simple. It was almost like eating plain raw oats, which I love, but just jazzed up a bit.
My Ginger Pear Muesli recipe is delicious, but you have to use the food processor. And sometimes you're just not in the mood to get out the food processor. Which is why I'm a huge fan of this Easy Plant-Based Muesli.
Now before I get too far let me just clarify what muesli is and how you eat it.

What is muesli?
Muesli is a breakfast cereal made with raw oats. You mix raw oatmeal with a bunch of delicious add-ins. You can then mix it with milk, use it in overnight oats, eat it on top of a smoothie, or however you'd like.
Muesli always has raw oats, but the other ingredients are up to you. It can be dried fruit, nuts, seeds, etc.
Vegan muesli is just muesli with no dairy.
How do you eat muesli?
Like I said, you can pretty much eat it however you'd like. I love making overnight oats with muesli or just eating it raw.
I've been loving oat milk lately and have been able to tolerate store-bought milk so I'm enjoying my muesli covered in oat milk!
The fact that you eat it raw is what makes muesli so amazing. It's incredibly easy to make ahead of time and throw it in a bowl for breakfast in exactly three seconds.

Ingredient Notes
The other great thing about Vegan Muesli is that you don't have to have specific ingredients. I'm going to list what I included in my muesli, but if you have different ingredients or want a slightly different flavor, add in your favorite foods!
- Rolled Oats: This is about the only food that's required for muesli - oats are the base of the dish
- Baru Nuts: These nuts aren't super popular but they have a nice sweet flavor that makes the muesli extra sweet. You can find baru nuts here. If you'd like to use another nut, almonds or hazelnuts would work well!
- Raisins: I love the sweetness raisins provide. If you don't like raisins, you could use other dried fruits.
- Pumpkin Seeds: I love the color of pumpkin seeds! They make this dish pretty. You could sub chia seeds or another type of nut/seed that you enjoy.
- Coconut Flakes: coconut is another subtly sweet food that gives the muesli another texture. Again, if you don't want to add coconut, you don't have to - pick another fun ingredient!
How to make Vegan Muesli
This is the "easy" part! Just measure out your ingredients (or don't even measure) and toss them together in a bowl. That's it!
Enjoy!
