What is sangria?
Sangria is a traditional Spanish drink, usually made with red wine, brandy, fruit, and juice. The fruit soaks up the alcohol, leaving boozy bites of fruit and a lighter alcohol drink.
I made a non-alcoholic sangria using several types of fruit juice for that classic sangria taste without any of the booze.

Why I love this Mocktail Sangria Recipe
- No Alcohol - of course! It's a mocktail, so there's no alcohol at all. If you want to add alcohol I have several suggestions for additions below.
- Great for kids and adults - a mixture of fruit and juice, this mocktail has sweet flavor that kids will love, yet adults will still recognize the classic sangria flavor profile
- Dietary needs - besides being alcohol-free this sangria is plant-based, oil-free, gluten-free, and totally sugar-free
- Fruity and summery - this sangria is bright and fun - great for a hot summer day
- Beautiful pink color - I don't know about you, but I'll take any excuse to drink a pretty mocktail
- Actually pretty healthy - while juice is mostly sugar, the fruit adds some fiber which helps balance blood sugar. Plus, if you use kombucha for the fizzy part, you'll get some gut-friendly bacteria too

Ingredient Notes & Substitutions
- Fresh Fruit: I used red apple, strawberries, oranges, and lemon. If you want to mix it up, feel free to sub your favorite fruits.
- Pomegranate Juice: this is the wine substitute. Pomegranate juice is slightly sweet, but still has a tang, just like many red wines. You can also use a bottle of non-alcoholic red wine. Or use another juice like cranberry juice or grape juice.
- Orange Juice: usually sangria has a juice or other sweetener - even though the base of this mocktail is juice, I still like adding the OJ to help create a deep flavor
- Ginger Kombucha: I like adding kombucha for the probiotics and electrolytes. You can also use any seltzer water or carbonated beverage like ginger beer.
- Mint: a fresh garnish

How to make this Sangria Mocktail
Step 1. Add the sliced fruit to a pitcher or large bowl.
Step 2. Pour in the pomegranate juice and orange juice. Let the mixture sit for an hour to allow the flavors to meld.

Step 3. When ready to serve, add the kombucha to the pitcher. Garnish with any additional sliced fruit and mint leaves. Enjoy!

Flavor Variations
- Apple / Fall Vibes: choose several varieties of apples. Add cinnamon and replace the orange juice with apple cider.
- Strawberry: double the strawberries, and replace half the pomegranate juice with strawberry lemonade.
- Pineapple / Tropical: add pineapple chunks, and replace half the pomegranate juice with pineapple juice.
- Blackberry: replace the apples with blackberries, and replace half the pomegranate juice with pineapple juice.
FAQ & Expert Tips
This sangria mocktail will last about a week in the fridge. The acid in the fruit and juice helps keep the drink fresh, but the fruit will start to go bad by the end of the week.
To add alcohol by the glass, I recommend adding a shot of brandy or your favorite liquor to each glass.
If you want to add alcohol to the entire pitcher you can replace the pomegranate juice with a bottle of wine or add a cup or so of brandy to the pitcher when you mix the pomegranate juice and OJ.

Or if you want to adjust this recipe, swap in white grape juice instead of the pomegranate juice. You could also use apple juice.
