Carrot Dogs!! Yes, these lil gems are completely real and incredibly delicious!

I used to love eating hotdogs as a kid. And while I have a small amount of nostalgia for summer cookouts with hotdogs on the grill I'm so glad that carrot dogs have come to save the day, turning a not-so-healthy dish into a veggie-ful meal!

    Easy Vegan Carrot Dogs

    What are carrot dogs?

Carrot dogs are basically hot dogs, but instead of being made from animals, they're just carrots!

A small or medium sized carrot is the perfect size to fit in a hot dog bun. And you can grill the carrot just like you would a regular hot dog. Then you just top with your favorite condiments. So easy!

Why I love this carrot hot dog recipe

    • Dietary needs - these carrot dogs are completely plant-based, no meat in sight! They are also oil-free, sugar-free, and will be gluten-free as long as you use gluten-free hot dog buns.
    • Quick and easy - I even put it in the name, these dogs are super easy to make. Besides the carrots, there's only a few other ingredients to help give the carrots some flavor.
    • Vegetarian BBQ option - these carrot dogs are perfect to serve at a summer BBQ for those who don't want to eat meat.

    Ingredients

    • Carrots: Pick out a few small to medium sized carrots for these dogs. You'll want carrots that fit nicely into hot dog buns. If they are too big, it will be awkward to eat and they'll take forever to cook.
    • Tomato Paste: For a BBQ sauce flavor, we'll mix up some tomato paste and date syrup.
    • Date Syrup: If you don't have date syrup,  you can sub maple syrup.
    • Condiments: Hot Dog Buns, Mustard, Ketchup, Relish, etc.
