This Non Alcoholic Hot Toddy is a warm, soothing drink with out the alcohol. A healing drink, perfect for a cold winter evening.

Several glasses hot toddies, garnished with lemon slices and star anise.

A hot toddy is a classic winter drink that's usually served warm and features whiskey. This non alcoholic version is perfect if you don't want alcohol but still want the vibes, flavor, and benefits of a hot toddy.

Hot toddies are often made for someone who is sick - the bite of whiskey can clear the sinuses. But if you're sick and don't want that alcohol, the other ingredients in a this hot toddy mocktail can be just as beneficial.

Black tea (instead of whiskey) - antioxidant rich

Honey - with antibacterial and antimicrobial properties.

Ginger - anti-inflammatory and immune boosting

Apple Cider Vinegar - also antimicrobial and gut friendly

Whip up this non alcoholic hot toddy whenever you're feeling under the weather or just as a warm, soothing beverage.

    Ingredient Notes & Substitutions

    • Hot Water + Black Tea Bag: instead of whiskey, these mocktails use tea as the base. Tea is more neutral but still has a bit of a bite, to mimic the whiskey flavor.
    • Cinnamon Stick: if you don't have cinnamon sticks, about ⅛ teaspoon of ground cinnamon will work too. Just strain the mixture before drinking.
    • Fresh Ginger: fresh ginger is great for when you're feeling sick and also adds a nice bite
    • Lemon: fresh juice is best!
    • Honey or Maple Syrup: honey has many antimicrobial and healing properties - it's great if you are sick. Use maple syrup as a totally vegan option.
    • Apple Cider Vinegar: another great ingredient for when you're sick - it's also antimicrobial
    • Garnish: sliced lemon, apple slice, cinnamon stick, star anise
