Do you have trouble finding time for prayer each day? What about finding time for exercise? Or finding time to go outside? Me too.

Life is busy. There's work and school and clubs and activities and family and friends and literally everything. Me time is hard to come by. Bodily health, what's that?

And spending time with God? It's so easy to let prayer slide to the bottom of seemingly endless to-do lists.

But we shouldn't let the craziness of life stop us from furthering our relationship with God or ensuring our bodies are fit and healthy. Sometimes we need to make time for the things that are important to us. Enter: prayer walks.

    What is a prayer walk?

A prayer walk is basically what it sounds like. You go on a walk, and instead of listening to music or spacing out, you pray. Simple right?

It's the simplicity that makes prayer walks powerful.

What do I do on prayer walks?

    Well… you pray.

Instead of tuning out the world, tune in to God.

Why should I go on a prayer walk?

Prayer is good. Praying every day (in some form or another) is optimal for our relationships with Jesus. When we actively make time for God, He will reward us.

Physical activity is important to mental and physical health. God calls us to take care of our bodies. We can do this by regularly taking time to move our bodies. Even something as simple as a walk can work wonders.

Since most of us don't have time to do everything we want to do, we can spend time with the Lord while getting in some exercise. Killing two birds with one stone - win!

Plus, walking outside can help us connect with nature. We can notice the trees and the flowers and the sky and grow in our appreciation for the great earth God gave us. This can have greater implications.

As we feel more gratitude for God's creation, we can make more connections to God's creation in other parts of our lives.

Sometimes, changing the scenery of prayer is good. Maybe your prayer is slacking or you get distracted easily in your current routine. A prayer walk can be the perfect change of pace you need to re-ignite your prayer while actively taking care of your body.

Have you gone on a prayer walk before? If not, try one out and let me know how it goes. Leave a comment below or tag me on Instagram @elizabeths_table
