I am a cream soda girly. I've been wanting to perfect a classic cream soda recipe, but I haven't quite nailed it yet. When I made my strawberry simple syrup I knew that I had to try out a strawberry cream soda.

The strawberry syrup has such a vibrant strawberry flavor, making the cream soda taste absolutely delightful.

Why I Love This Strawberry Cream Soda

    • Healthier version of a classic - when I tell you I couldn't believe how good this tastes despite being a healthy version. My eyes were popping out of my head
    • Nostalgic - a throwback to classic soda shop vibes
    • Super easy - just three ingredients!
    • Non-dairy option -you can make a delightful cream soda at home without any dairy
    • Warm weather drink - perfect for warm days or when you're craving a sweet treat
A jar of strawberry syrup, next to two jars of strawberry cream soda.

    Ingredient Notes & Substitutions

    • Strawberry Simple Syrup: I used my homemade strawberry simple syrup. It's vegan and has a natural, bright strawberry flavor. Any store bought strawberry syrup will also work.
    • Seltzer Water: you can also use club soda or any other unflavored sparkling water.
    • Milk: I used oat milk, but any milk will work. For an ultra creamy version, use vegan cream or full fat coconut milk.

    Serving Suggestions

Serve over ice for a classic soda fountain experience.

Add a strawberry on the rim for some fun!

Pro Tip: Try layering the drink (syrup, then soda, then milk) for an ombre look.

    FAQ & Expert Tips

Can I make this ahead of time?

You can prep the syrup in advance, but mix the soda just before serving to preserve the carbonation.

    Can I use flavored seltzer?

Yes! Try a hint of lemon or berry-flavored sparkling water for added depth.

For a clean flavor, stick with plain seltzer.

What's the best non-dairy milk for cream soda?

Oat milk (like atly's creamy) or full fat coconut milk adds the creamiest texture.

Pro Tip: purchase seltzer water in cans (instead of a larger bottle) to have the most carbonation for each drink.
