    Vegan Root Beer Floats

Why I love these plant-based Root Beer Floats

    • Dietary needs - this recipe is vegan, dairy-free, oil-free, gluten-free, and refined sugar-free
    • Healthy version of a classic - with vanilla ice cream that's sweetened with dates and root beer made from whole foods and probiotics, these floats are so much healthier than the og recipe. And just as tasty!
    • No equipment - if you use my no-churn vegan vanilla ice cream, you don't even need an ice cream maker
    • Summer staple - I mean, who doesn't love a good root beer float in the summer?!

    Ingredient Notes

    • Plant-Based Root Beer: I recommend Ollipop Root Beer Soda. It uses root beer spices to get that classic root beer taste. But doesn't have any of the refined sugar or chemicals that come in traditional root beer. I promise, you won't even know the difference.
    • Vegan Vanilla Ice Cream: whip up a batch of my Date Sweetened No-Churn Vegan Vanilla Ice Cream. It's full of plant-based ingredients and super easy to make.
    • Fresh Cherries: I opt for fresh cherries as a topping, since maraschino cherries are made with corn syrup and artificial dyes. You could also add a drizzle of date syrup or plant-based whipped cream for a Sundae style.

How to make Vegan Root Beer Floats

I'm not sure anyone really needs an explanation for how to make a root beer float. But here ya go, just in case:

Step 1. Make a batch of no-churn vegan vanilla ice cream. Freeze until solid, then let thaw for 10 minutes to allow the ice cream to soften.

Step 2. Pour a can of root beer into a glass ¾ of the way full.

Step 3. Add a scoop or two of ice cream, watching carefully so the glass doesn't overflow.

Step 4. Top with a cherry. Serve and enjoy!
