Colorful Kombucha Moscato Sangria makes the perfect healthy-ish summer cocktail. Perfectly boozy and sweetened with fruit and gut-friendly kombucha.

When I think about summer cocktails, I immediately think about sangria. It reminds me of summer dinner parties my parents hosted with our family friends when I was growing up. Sangria is fruity and fresh. It just feels so bright and fun and happy!

Fun fact: for my 21st birthday, I made kombucha sangria, and my friends thought I was trying to kill them with kombucha. Now, I have some kombucha-loving friends, and I know that kombucha sangria is not only fun but also delicious.
So here we are: kombucha sangria.

What is kombucha sangria?
Let's tart with what sangria is. Sangria is a punch of sorts, usually made with red wine and fruit. The fruit soaks up the alcohol, creating a lower-alcohol drink (though if you eat the fruit too you get all that booziness back!).
Often you will see recipes with fruit juice added to the wine. This is fine, but (in my opinion) adding kombucha is more fun. Since kombucha is fizzy, you get a lovely carbonation in your sangria. Plus, you get the added benefits of probiotics and a little bit of gut health with your booze.

Ingredients
- Ginger Kombucha: Ginger kombucha has a neutral taste and is the perfect light color to help you create a beautiful color change with the pea powder.
- Pink Moscato: Traditional sangria uses a red sangria wine, but Moscato is super sweet and tasty, perfect for a fruity sangria.
- Brandy: A kick of brandy is a fun sangria addition. If you don't have brandy or don't like it, no worries, brandy is optional and the sangria will still be delicious without it.
- Fruit: I used a mix of fresh and frozen. Frozen berries make the perfect ice, and fresh citrus fruits add some sour to the sweet.
- Mint: for garnish.
