This oil-free Creamy Vegan Avocado Dip is like guacamole, but creamier! This dip is made with only six ingredients and you can whip it up in just 5 minutes.

A bowl of avocado dip, served with parsnip fries.

Picture guacamole. Delicious right? Now picture a dip that's even richer and creamier than guacamole.

You're picturing this Creamy Vegan Avocado Dip!

This dip is literally like eating guacamole, but better. The dip is thick and creamy. It's super flavorful and pairs well with a number of dipping vessels.

I love eating this dip with my Garlic Parsnip Fries. Both have garlic and cilantro flavors going on - such a perfect pair.

You could also eat this dip with pita, tortilla chips, raw veggies, sweet potato fries. Whatever you like!!

    Creamy Vegan Avocado Dip

Why I love this Creamy Vegan Avocado Dip

    • Dietary needs - this dip is dairy-free, plant-based, oil-free, gluten-free, and sugar-free
    • Quick and easy - it literally takes 5 minutes to whip up this avocado dip
    • Fun twist on guacamole - everyone loves guac, right? Well you're guac-loving friends will adore this dip too
    • Fiber - regular guacamole is by no means bad for you, but this creamy avocado dip has the extra benefits of protein and fiber from the addition of beans! Don't worry you can't taste them.

    Ingredient Notes

    • Avocado: Make sure your avocado is ripe! This recipe is actually perfect for a slightly over-ripe avocado - once it's in the sauce you won't even notice if it's slightly too ripe.
    • White Beans: White beans make this dip thick and creamy! I used great northern beans, but another white bean like cannellini would work. Don't worry - you can't taste the beans at all
    • Cilantro: The cilantro is optional but adds a nice burst of freshness!
    • Garlic Powder: For some umami flavor!
    • Lemon Juice: The acid in the lemon juice helps keep the avocado from turning brown. Gotta keep that pretty green color! You could use lime juice instead
    • Salt

How to make Creamy Vegan Avocado Dip

Step 1. Add all the ingredients to a food processor or blender. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as necessary.

Step 2. Serve and enjoy with parsnip fries!

How to make Creamy Vegan Avocado Dip without a blender

If you don't have a blender or a food processor, you have two options:

Option 1. Instead of blending, mash the beans and avocado like you would if you were making guacamole. The key would be to make sure the beans are very well mashed - you don't really want chunks of beans in your dip.

Option 2. Use a different ingredient to create creaminess. You could sub in some vegan cream cheese or vegan yogurt. Then just stir everything together.

In either scenario, you should finely chop the cilantro, so you don't have whole leaves of cilantro in the dip.

    Recipe Prayer

Thank you God for this dip. Thank you for the nutrients in our food that keep us healthy. Amen.
