Ingredient Notes & Substitutions
- Chickpeas: canned chickpeas are perfect
- Aquafaba: this is the liquid in a can of chickpeas. This recipe uses aquafaba instead of oil
- Tahini: tahini is a sesame seed paste. If you don't have any you could use sunflower seed butter or almond butter
- Lemon: grab a whole lemon and zest and juice it. Lemon adds such a freshness to this hummus.
- Fresh Dill: I recommend fresh dill for the best flavor, but you can sub 2 tablespoons of dried dill
- Garlic: mincing the garlic before you blend it keeps it from getting too strong
- Cumin
- Salt

How to make Lemon Dill Hummus
Step 1. Add all ingredients, except the aquafaba, to a food processor. Blend, adding the aquafaba, until you reach your desired consistency. Enjoy!

FAQ & Expert Tips
Most traditional Middle Eastern hummus recipes are made without oil! They usually use fresh chickpeas. This is an option.
But there's another way: add more tahini or aquafaba.
Save all the liquid from your can of chickpeas or grab some extra tahini and add another ¼ cup for an ultra silky hummus.
Homemade hummus does not last as long as store-bought.
Store this coconut curry hummus in an air tight container in the fridge. It will last 7-10 days.
