Life is busy. And sometimes you just need something sweet and simple to keep you going.

Before turning to food, I first suggest you turn to prayer (like prayer before meals or prayer walks). Spending that time with God, for 30 seconds or 30 minutes, is important to mental and spiritual health.

We've still got to feed ourselves though! Enter: Raw Apple Pie Granola Bars.

    Raw Apple Pie Granola Bars

Friends, these bars are everything you want in apple pie, but without all the sugar and butter and terrible-for-you stuff. Raw Apple Pie Granola Bars are filled with healthy, real food. So good.

What's in the bars? Only 7 simple ingredients! You probably already have them in your pantry.

    Raw Apple Pie Granola Bars

    Ingredients

    Rolled Oats

A staple in my pantry. Packed with fiber, rolled oats are the key ingredient in these bars, keeping them from getting too mushy.

    Dates

Another pantry staple. Dates have an incredible sweetness and help the bars bind together.

    Raisins

Like dates, raisins make these bars super sweet. They also add a unique fall-flavor. You wouldn't typically find raisins in apple pie, but trust me, they're necessary in this recipe!

    Walnuts

A great source of healthy fats and Omega 3s, walnuts give these Raw Apple Pie Granola Bars a sweet, nutty flavor and a density that wouldn't occur without a fat source.

    Almonds

Similar to walnuts, the almonds add a fat source and key vitamins and minerals. Specifically, almonds bring vitamin E, magnesium, and copper (among other goodness!)

    Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a classic fall spice (and one of my favorites). You wouldn't find apple pie without cinnamon 🙂

    Apples

And the last, but not least ingredient, is of course, apple! These are Raw APPLE Pie Granola Bars. It doesn't take much to achieve the sweet apple flavor. In fact, because we are just blending an apple into these bars, we don't want to use too much or else the bars will get super mush. So, only one apple. But don't worry -- these bars definitely exude the apple pie flavor!

The best part about this recipe (besides the fact that the bars taste like literal apple pie) is that it is super quick to make.

How to make Raw Apple Pie Granola Bars

First, blend some of the oats, the dates, raisins, nuts, and cinnamon. Then add the apple and the remaining oats. The mixture comes together easily.

After the blending, spread the mixture into a pan and freeze for an hour or so.

Then cut the bars into your desired size. I first cut them into longer bars but realized that I was aiming for more of a quick snack. So I ended up with 16 little squares. You could always shape these into balls or use a cookie cutter to create fun shapes. Let that creativity take over!

I hope you enjoy these little bites of (healthy) apple pie!

    Recipe Prayer

God, thank you for the gift of raw food. Let us draw closer to you through the connection between your earth and the food you give us. Help us turn to you instead of food. Amen.
