    Strawberry and matcha is one of my new favorite flavor combinations. The bright, fruity strawberry flavor perfectly complements the earthy matcha.

    So if you want something that's a bit more nutrient dense than a strawberry matcha latte, this strawberry matcha smoothie is for you!

    • Frozen Strawberries: to avoid using ice, use frozen strawberries
    • Frozen Banana: use frozen banana for the best texture.
    • Milk: I used soy milk for protein, but feel free to use any milk you prefer

    • Frozen Banana: use frozen banana for the best texture.
    • Milk: I used soy milk for protein, but feel free to use any milk you prefer
    • Yogurt: I used vegan greek yogurt for extra protein. Feel free to use any yogurt you like.
    • Matcha: any matcha will work here
    • Protein Powder: this is optional. I used almond powder.

    Pro Tip: Use a wide glass and pour slowly for crisp layers.

    Step-By-Step Instructions

    Step 1. Add the strawberry layer ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Set aside in the freezer while you make the matcha layer.

    For the layers, this smoothie is best served fresh, but feel free to blend it all together to prep ahead. I like storing smoothies in freezer safe bags or prepped in cups.

    The type of matcha isn't as important for a smoothie as it would be for a latte. Feel free to use whatever matcha fits your budget.

    How do I keep the layers from mixing?

    • 1-2 Teaspoons Matcha Powder
    • 1 Scoop Protein Powder optional; I used almond powder
