A tray of freshly roasted sweet and spicy. nuts.

    I don't roast nuts a lot.

Not because I don't like them. But because I like them too much. I eat them soooo quickly. Especially when I add some sweet and spicy flavors like with these nuts. Seriously addictive.

Vegan Sweet & Spicy Roasted Nuts

For these Vegan Spicy Roasted Nuts, I used a combination of pecans, almonds, cashews, and pepitas. I wanted the nutritional variety and I also wanted several flavors and textures. You can choose your own favorite nuts (or seeds) to use!

Why I love these Vegan Spicy Roasted Nuts

    • Dietary needs - these nuts are oil-free, dairy-free, plant-based, gluten-free, and refined sugar-free
    • Perfect snack - make a batch of these sweet and spicy nuts to have a delicious snack to munch on whenever you want a crunchy, sweet treat
    • Nutrient-dense - nuts and seeds pack in so many vitamins and minerals, especially Omega-3s and other healthy fats. The dish as a whole is also fairly balanced in terms of carbohydrates, fats, and protein, which will keep you full for longer

    Ingredient Notes & Substitutions

    • Mixed Nuts: I used pecans, cashews, almonds, and pepitas. Choose your favorite nuts and seeds for your own mix.
    • Date or Maple Syrup: you can use either syrup. If your date syrup is very runny you may need to bake the nuts for a few minutes longer. Either way, let the nuts cool completely on the pan to avoid stickiness.
    • Sriracha: adjust the spiciness to your preference. You can taste a nut or two before baking and know that the spiciness will decrease slightly in the oven.
    • Kosher Salt
    • Cinnamon & Cloves: If you aren't a big fan of cinnamon or cloves you can decrease or omit them entirely. Though I highly recommend including them because they add a sweet, rich flavor to the nuts
