This Raspberry Matcha Latte is creamy, bright, and sweet. A refreshing and energizing drink layered with green tea and raspberry syrup.

I am a coffee drinker at the core, but matcha is slowly growing on me! I have really been enjoying the earthy matcha + fruity syrup combo.

I loved making my strawberry oat milk matcha lattes. And this raspberry version has that same fruity flavor!

Why you'll love this Raspberry Matcha Latte

    • Make at home any time - no need to run to Starbucks, you can make this latte at home without any special equipment
    • Coffee-free energy - matcha gives a calm, steady boost without the crash
    • Raspberry twist - the fruity syrup perfectly complements earthy matcha
    • Dairy-free & vegan - made with non dairy milk and vegan raspberry syrup
    • Beautifully layered - it's just as pretty as it is delicious

Pro Tip: Use ceremonial-grade matcha for the best flavor and color.

    Ingredient Notes & Substitutions

    • Matcha: use your favorite matcha
    • Hot Water & Cold Water: If you're making an iced latte I recommend mixing the matcha with hot water first. This helps the powder fully emulsify with the water. Then finish with cold water to help cool down the drink. For a hot latte, use warm water only.
    • Milk: I typically make my drinks with soy milk - extra protein! That said, oat milk is super smooth, creamy, and delightful in lattes. I find that almond milk tastes a little funky in lattes, so avoid that unless you already know you like it.
    • Raspberry Syrup: I used my raspberry simple syrup. I love keeping some of the pulp and adding it to the lattes for texture. You can also use a store-bought syrup.

    Step-By-Step Instructions

Step 1. If using a matcha whisk, soak the whisk in hot water for 5 minutes before using.

Raspberry matcha latte step 1 - soak the matcha whisk.

Step 2. Sift the matcha through a fine mesh strainer.

Raspberry matcha latte step 2 - sift the matcha.

Step 3. In your matcha bowl or other small bowl, whisk together the matcha and warm water in an "M" motion.

Raspberry matcha latte step 3 - add hot water and whisk.

Step 4. Add the cold water (or the rest of the hot water for a hot latte) and whisk again.

Raspberry matcha latte step 4 - add cold water and whisk.

Step 5. Add ice to the glass. Add your desired amount of raspberry syrup, then your milk, then pour in the matcha.

Raspberry matcha latte step 5 - pour syrup, milk, and matcha into your glass.

    FAQ & Expert Tips

Can I make this warm instead of iced?

Yes! Use only warm water in the matcha, skip the ice, and warm the milk on the stove or microwave before mixing.

    What milk works best?

Barista-style oat milk gives the creamiest texture, but any kind works. I typically use soy milk!

    Can I make other flavors?

Yes! Use this recipe with other syrups. My strawberry syrup is great with matcha!
